Gallery FIFTY ONE
Four years after the launch of Antwerp’s most dynamic and innovative photography gallery, FIFTY ONE FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY is pleased to present an exhibition to celebrate the artists who have made the past four years possible.
FIFTY ONE FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY opened in June 2000 with Belgian artist Panamarenko. Since then, FIFTY ONE has exhibited the work of ICP award winner Elinor Carucci, Hasselblad Award winner Malick Sidibé, 2004 Whitney Biennale Katy Grannan, the fascinating portraits of Malian photographer Seydou Keita, hosted the Belgium’s first exhibition of the work of William Klein, and recently showed the photographs of Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama.
As Antwerp’s first gallery devoted to photography, FIFTY ONE FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY is dedicated to encouraging the appreciation of photographic innovation. By focusing on the artistic achievements by both new and established artists, FIFTY ONE seeks to articulate the important role photography plays in art and fashion today. Please join us on for a drink on Saturday June 12th 2004.
